JACKLINE SAYS BEAUTY IS NOT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU: CELEBRATING BEAUTY,MAKEUP AND SELF-WORTH
Jackline Gibson Kimambo is Miss Dar Indian Ocean 2016 - 2017. The 25 year old was born in Kilimanjaro and now living in Dar es Salam. She holds a Diploma in Local Government Administration. Her hobbies are but not limited to playing netball and volleyball. Her ambition is to become a good administrator and she has a passion in modelling, she hopes than one day she becomes an African model for international runways. Jackline also serves as a volunteer for charity work, she dedicates part of her time to help children who are living in disadvantaged communities.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is not only about the physical appearance, but also, how your brain functions or perceives beauty, in fact your body looks like what other people think about your body. You should not let other people think your body is not right and believe them, you should be confident in your own skin and not to care much of what other people think of your beauty or your figure. Beauty is also what you do that has a positive impact on the people around you.
How do you feel about make up and the controversy behind it?
Make up is not used to hide flaws like many people think. In fact beautiful people apply make up to enhance their beauty. It makes you look different in a good way, plus it boosts your confidence when you’re running your errands. Is there a link between those in the beauty industry and those who did not attain higher education qualifications?I think this depends on what a person wants to do with their lives. I have studied to diploma level, and I can get a job but I chose modeling. The only reason why that statement is believed to be true could be because the beauty industry is easy to penetrate, also most women who enter into the beauty industry are those whom society believed to be failures in school. Little do they know that beauty care courses are advancing. Also once you have the confidence, the expertise and the knowledge you can earn more money like any other profession.
If you where given a chance to use LuvTouch Manjano products, which ones would you use and why?
I have used the products before, they are good, and they are different from other products that I have used. My favourites are oil-free foundation, powder and moisturising lipstick. My lips feel very soft after applying the LuvTouch Lipstick. If they LuvTouch has its own mascara and eyeliner, it will be great to try it too. I love using eye liners.
What Advice do you have for girls and young women?
Girls have to focus on education, which is the only guaranteed way to help them become who they want to become. They should also learn a lot of the industry they want to get into, ask around, do their research and ask questions from their role models. As for those who aspire to be a model like me, they should focus on being themselves and staying fit by regular exercises, eating well and living a healthy lifestyle
